What causes a power surge?

A power surge can be caused by a natural disaster like a lightning strike or by sudden changes in your electrical grid from a downed power line. What’s the difference between an external versus internal power surge?

I can't say enough about this company and it's staff. I am a disabled veteran and my furnace stopped working. I made a call and they did everything they could to work me in their busy schedule. Once the tech got into it he found that a bird had gotten into the furnace causing major problems. He suggested that the vent pipe be covered this would prevent this from happening again. I mentioned that I had chicken wire and he got it and enclosed the vent. I will be forever grateful to the technician for his help.
